Dear Twister Families,
As you may have heard, the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) has recently taken steps to revoke USA Gymnastics’ (USAG) recognition as the national governing body for the sport of gymnastics. The USOC believes that “the challenges facing the organization are simply more than it is capable of overcoming in its current form,” and at Twisters we agree and believe a fresh start is necessary.
You may be wondering how the USOC’s actions to decertify USAG will impact our gymnasts and coaches. We received a message from the USOC and USAG stating that these actions will have very little impact on gymnasts, coaches and judges participating in the Jr. Olympic and Xcel level programs this season. We will continue to communicate any changes that may effect our athletes as we learn more information.
Regardless of any actions taken against the national governing body, thousands of gymnasts will still be able to train and compete all over the country. Twisters will still continue to teach gymnastics in a fun and safe environment and with the utmost professionalism, while standing by our mission to help develop happy, healthy and responsible kids.
We believe there is a brighter and safer future for gymnasts of all levels all across the country. The time has come for big cultural shift in the sport we are all so passionate about, and we welcome these changes. Thank you for your faith in Twisters and our mission, and for your continued support as we help your children achieve their goals.
Sincerely,
Twister’s Leadership Team & Head Coaches
